Blog Traffic and Income Report: September 2019

(This is Twentythirtyfree.com‘s third blog traffic and income report for the date of September 2019. Each month will feature a complete breakdown of the traffic, expenses, and income generated by this blog. This is to document the progress this blog is making as it strives to reach a wide audience as well as encourage others that making money while blogging is still possible).

September Rain.

While I did manage to post six articles this month, I did not get to post as much as I would’ve liked. As in the case of August, life frequently got in the way and it’s an eye-opener as to how hard it is to stay on a consistent schedule. Even harder is making sure your internal links stay connected as you continue to update your web pages based on previous-post-history.

The good news is that the page-views were still relatively high. September was my second-highest-month (June is still first) and it shows that if you continue to create useful content, your monthly-viewership will snowball higher than it would otherwise. So even though I’m not making a lot of progress, as long as my viewers continue to increase on a yearly average–which it did for this month–then I count the month as a success.

This is especially true when creating content about the side-hustle of blogging; which is still one of the better side-hustles to embark on if you’re young and have limited income.

So let’s continue…

Why I’m Doing This.

Even though I haven’t been updating as much as I’d like, there are still a few reasons why I’m wanting to do these reports.

1. To Track Growth and Progress.

Anytime a new blog is started, I’m always interested to see what the latest post is. Part of this is because I like getting in touch with new bloggers and reading what they have to say. When they come from different parts of the world—or had a wildly different upbringing—I’m always interested to learn their story. To keep in tandem with a blog’s growth is a lot of work; so if my fellow readers are curious about how many other people read the blog, this will allow them to see it.

2. Reader Feedback.

By showing what articles and weeks have been the most successful, this blog traffic and income report allows me to gauge what my readers find most engaging. In a way, this will help me fine-tailor content on this blog and make it more useful for both casual observers and loyal readers.

Viewing Google Analytics is one thing but laying it out and using it to confirm the interests of your reader-base is something else. Another good thing is that if my articles start to dip in quality over time, the reports will let me know through the dip in traffic.

3. Showing Other Readers What’s Possible.

In addition to providing useful information on how to make the transition to adulthood smoother, I am hoping that these will document to readers that blogging is not dead in 2019. In addition to providing an outlet for your ideas, creativity, and knowledge, blogging can still be used as a side-hustle to generate part-time-income as you begin college or a career.

There are a multitude of income reports you can find online but a caveat to keep in mind is that a lot of the ones that show up on the first few pages of Google have been blogging for years.

So let’s get started.

September 2019 Blog Stats (Google Analytics).

Pageviews: 85

Users: 58

Bounce Rate: 90.16%

Because I had six posts published in September, I easily earned more views this month compared to August. I still haven’t reached the zenith that was June but I’m guessing if I can stick to a regular schedule, then the problem will take care of itself. As you can see in my October 2019 report (article link), no articles were published for the month of October.

If I’d continued with at least 6-8 posts for next month, I’m confident I would’ve reached my goal to have another 100+ pageview month. As it stands, it’s good to see that organic traffic is still making it’s way to the blog. I receive more traffic from SEO and search engines than I do from Pinterest, or other social media websites. Progress is progress.

September 2019 Blog Income

Google Adsense: $0.02

Amazon Associates: $0.00

Analysis: Still not much in the way of Google Ad-sense money (which is understandable since my viewership is low) and I expect the amazon-associates article to remain stagnant since it was an article I wrote months ago and I haven’t done much in the way of promoting it through social-media-ads. But like I said before…

…progress is progress.

Conclusion.

I do know that my blog desperately needs three things: a consistent schedule, an email-capture-tool for marketing, and some ads done on Facebook or Pinterest. While I continue to see my followers go up on Twitter, I believe the largest amount of my traffic will be on the two social-media-engines I just mentioned. If I continue to post at least 6-8 articles a month and make some Facebook Ads to market those posts, I believe that I could reach up to 500+ viewers in a single month; I will currently use that benchmark for success on the next go around.

As always, thanks for reading…and…

Let’s crush our dreams together,

SC.
